Job Description


We are looking for a skilled and competent Skills Development Facilitator to join our Training Solutions Partner, Ecowize High Performance Solutions (EHPS), in the Gauteng region. The successful incumbent will coordinate, manage and support the skills development facilitation as a legislative function within the learning and development space. As a Skills Development Facilitator, you will assist the organisations managers with the planning and execution of training plans and align organisational training needs with training offerings and suitable training providers. This role will also establish relationships with the SETA stakeholders, learning partners and successfully identify opportunities to achieve the maximum benefit from discretionary and mandatory grants available across all business units.High-level Job Objectives:

  • Training Operations - Monitor the planning and implementation of training interventions (statutory and non-statutory training) with required training records and systems kept up to date within required timelines
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Managing, implementing and supporting the Skills Development Facilitation function through scheduled, formal and informal engagement with stakeholders such as equity forum, employee and management representatives to assist with identifying training needs and plans
  • Statutory Training Reporting - Submit Work Skills Plan, Annual Training Report and Pivotal Reports (mandatory submission) with accuracy and within the required timeline as well as monitor and execute discretionary grant funding opportunities
  • Learner Management System - Work closely with the L&D Manager to drive adoption of the Ecowize Academy ensuring that employees are enrolled and actively participatin
  • Learnership Management - Work closely with the L&D Manager to review the relevance and quality of learning material and facilitation and POE completion management
ResponsibilitiesTraining Operations:
  • Assist the L&D Manager to map out quarterly training plans and schedules
  • Assist with sourcing appropriate training providers/training programmes to meet employee developmental/training needs
  • Assist the L&D Manager with drafting of the workplace skills plan annually
  • Coordinating with facilitators, training partners, venues, and delegates for virtual and face-to-face training
  • Manage all the logistics for the training sessions and support trainers in the delivery of training sessions through the organisation of necessary materials, facilities, equipment, and refreshments.
  • Collaborate with the training coordinator to ensure monthly training reporting is accurate and up to date for learnerships, internal and external training
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Support managers in the identification of training needs for their business units
  • Support managers with the formalization of training plans aligned to training needs
  • Track and provide feedback on the progress of implemented training interventions to the equity committee
  • Facilitate internal training on various topics
Statutory Training Reporting:
  • Maintain monthly training reporting records ensuring accurate documentation is sourced from suppliers and filed
  • Stay abreast of all training-related legislation as well as SETA funding opportunities
  • Capture and submit ATR and Pivotal Reports on time and with accuracy
  • Capture and submit workplace skills plan
  • Monitor discretionary funding window of applicable SETA and execute grant application
Learnership Management:
*Maintain learnership trackers with accurate and latest information
*Monitor attendance and POE submissions for learnerships and intervene where managers and learners need support to ensure regular attendance and monthly POE completion
*Review the relevance and quality of learning materials
*Review the quality of training facilitation
  • Grade 12
  • 3-year degree/ relevant diploma in HR or related field
  • ODETDP (Occupationally directed education, training and development practitioner)
  • Knowledge of Skills development legislative frameworks
  • Previous experience working as a Skills Development Facilitator
  • Experience with the implementation of learnerships
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in managing the skills development section of the BBBEE Scorecard
  • Experience working with Learner Management Systems
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience creating and managing yearly training plans/schedules
  • Experience managing the implementation of learnerships
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders on junior and senior level
  • Knowledge of the Hygiene/ Cleaning or FMCG industry will be advantageous
