Position: Smelt House Foreman
Industry: Mining
Location: Gauteng, South AfricaRPO Recruitment's client is seeking a skilled and experienced Smelt House Foreman to oversee operations at their mining facility in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the smelting process, ensuring the safe and efficient production of metal products.Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate smelting operations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Monitor production processes and equipment to optimize efficiency and output
• Manage a team of smelting technicians and provide training and guidance as needed
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of smelting equipment
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate material handling and production schedules
• Maintain accurate records and reports of production data and quality control measures
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to smelting operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in metallurgy or related field
• Supervisory course/ First line manager course
• At least 5 years' experience working as a smelt houses foreman in a Gold Smelting environment
• Held a 2.9.2 MHSA appointment
• Experience in in gold production plant operations including CIL, Elution, Carbon Regeneration and Electrowinning
• Processing plant experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
