Ensure alignment with the overarching Enterprise Architecture (EA) blueprint that supports the CSB business strategy and Telkom's digital transformation goals while providing guidance to the architecture team and the wider IT community in relation to the effective use of technology systems and applications. Lead the development and implementation of an agile architecture strategy and roadmap that drives Telkom's evolution into a digital-enabled architecture while ensuring agility, scalability, and continuous alignment with the EA Blueprint and the IT digital transformation strategy. Direct management of architecture across critical domains like digital, data, application, cloud, security, and integration, ensuring coherence and fitness-for-purpose in support of business capabilities, digital ecosystems, and platforms.Job Responsibilities

  • Support the IT leadership team by helping define and implement an agile architecture strategy that supports Telkom's business strategy, focusing on digital transformation, business ecosystems, and evolving customer needs.
  • In collaboration with senior leadership, ensure the architecture strategy aligns with the CSB Enterprise Architecture Blueprint and supports the execution of Telkom's IT digital transformation roadmap.
  • Lead the design, development, and continuous evolution of the architecture across key domains (Digital, Application, Data, Cloud, Integration, and Security) to ensure scalability, flexibility, and alignment with agile methodologies.
  • Translate the strategic direction from the EA Blueprint and the digital transformation roadmap into practical, agile architecture deliverables, driving innovation while meeting business goals.
  • Produce high-level, end-to-end designs and detailed architecture artifacts that align with the enterprise architecture principles and drive the delivery of agile solutions.
  • Work with the Executive Manager to drive simplification, standardization, and cost-reduction efforts through agile architecture principles, ensuring the efficient use of resources while increasing revenue through new business capabilities.
  • Ensure all architecture efforts align with the IT Roadmap and EA Blueprint to create a unified approach to technology, integration, data, and security that can support the dynamic, agile development required by the business.
  • Advocate for the adoption of new technologies and disruptive solutions, with a focus on enabling rapid experimentation and agile transformation aligned with the strategic EA goals.
  • Lead the architecture team and ensure the development of agile best practices, standards, and patterns that align with the digital transformation roadmap.
  • Provide thought leadership on industry trends, including cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API management, ensuring that these align with Telkom's enterprise architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with internal and external delivery teams, technology partners, and business stakeholders to ensure agile solutions meet business needs and align with the broader IT strategy.
  • Ensure that the architecture complies with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements while supporting agile delivery cycles and evolving business requirements.
  • Drive agile innovation by continuously identifying emerging technology trends, creating a digital architecture that supports business agility and flexibility.

  • NQF 7: 3 year Degree
Experience
  • 7 Years relevant experience, of which at least 2 years on management level
Additional InformationCertification, Qualifications and Experience:
  • TOGAF/ ZACHMAN or similar mandatory. TOGAF, EA, ITIL, ISSAP advantageous.
  • Qualification preferably in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related.
  • 7 years exp and min of 3 years at management level in at least 3 of these IT disciplines: Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Solution Design, Programming/ Software Dev, Integration, Business Architecture, Databases Management/ Data Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture..
  • Exp in leading and influencing architecture teams within agile frameworks and env, ensuring seamless alignment with the EA Blueprint and the overarching digital transformation roadmap.
  • Exp working with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps is essential to drive continuous delivery and iterative improvement aligned with enterprise architecture goals.
Special Requirements:
  • Expertise in EA with a strong understanding of how agile methodologies fit within the context of EA frameworks and digital transformation strategies.
  • Knowledge of how to translate strategic architecture visions into actionable, agile architecture patterns and solutions across the business domains (data, application, technology, integration, cloud).
  • Proficiency in leading digital transformation programs and aligning agile architecture solutions with strategic enterprise goals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking abilities, with high levels of creativity, capable of aligning technology solutions with business strategy in an agile framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical leaders.

  • Understanding of both the current Telecoms and digital services market and emerging business and technology trends.
