Agriculture degree in Soil ScienceA tertiary qualification in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be an added advantageExperienceMinimum of 3 years working experience in a relevant fieldHigh level of GIS knowledge, including the use of ESRI suite (ArcGIS), QGIS and Google Earth applicationsKnowledge in Ag Leaderxc2xae SMSxe2x84xa2 software will be an added advantageTrack record of managing projects and achieving goalsDutiesSoil classification maps and reportsAgricultural spatial data managementWorking with the agronomic field teamRemote sensing data managementTranslating raw data into agricultural solutionsGIS mappingJob CompetenciesStrong ability to work independently.Strong understanding of fertilizer crop requirements.Strong understanding of agronomic principles including soil chemistry, soil physics, agronomy, plant physiology and crop nutrient management.Creative thinker.Excellent language skills (written and verbal English and Afrikaans).Ability to lead and take initiative.
