Core Description
This role is responsible for the analysis and synthesis of data through the creation and running of analytical models based on critical business questions. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the application of advanced analytics to assemble data sets from diverse sources, test hypotheses, discover actionable insights, and predict outcomes that will assist BCX to optimise return on investment and ensure this aligns to the overall strategy of the organisation. Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
Align to the BP&A strategy and enable end-to-end, scalable, efficient processes for data analysis, model development, validation and implementation.
Develop the capabilities, frameworks and models needed to provide the analytics linked to business challenges and, as a result, guide leaders with the data required to improve business decisions.
Support strategic decision making through financial analysis, including financial modelling, analysis, and development of financial projections for specific business opportunities.
Participate in management and leadership forums of the supported business unit to influence business decisions to align with finance objectives of the business unit, BCX and Telkom group.
Consolidate and provide accurate data that is used by external market analysts, Board and Exco platforms.
Monitor changes in the external environment that will affect financial and operational performance and proactively report on developments and advise on alternatives.
Conduct analyses of BUs and determine the steps necessary for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation by providing thought-leadership, root-cause analysis, and proposing solutions
Analyse financial performance of the supported BUs to determine focus areas, risks and opportunities
Provide advice and guidance in the integration of external insights into operational capability, looking at BCX relative to the market.
* Compile and submit reports that are easy to use and understand, and in a visually appropriate manner in order to enable management to identify problems, grey areas and pockets of excellence in order to initiate the appropriate action, adjust resources and offer support where required.
