This community and social development arm of Communicare, delivers psycho-social interventions to Communicare tenants. The organisation's overall objective is to expand our impact through innovative and focused social development interventions that create an enabling environment to advance the economic mobility of previously marginalized community members.
About the role:
The role's primary purpose is to research, design, and implement the Social Cohesion Programmes and awareness campaigns in the tenant base. You would also provide administrative and tenant support services to Communicare Tenants; support Social Development Officers (Social Workers) with rendering a social work service regarding the care, support, protection, and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities through the relevant Vulamathuba programmes and would stay abreast of the latest developments, White Papers, and Acts governing Social Work Services.
While based in Pinelands, you would be working with people in and around all Communicare residential complexes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The following education is required:
Matric with a Social Auxiliary Work Certificate Level 4
The following experience is required:
Experience in community and social services work
Experience in working on several projects simultaneously
Other skills required:
Excellent verbal and written skills in English and at least one other official predominantly language used in the Western Cape.
Ability to research relevant literature to design and implement programmes
Written and verbal communication skills
Networking and Influencing skills
Proficiency in MS Office required
Excellent organizational, administrative, and planning skills
Ability to work within a team environment, display excellent interpersonal skills and communicate effectively.
Ability to think innovatively and be a self-starter.
Must be prepared to work extended hours and Saturdays during peak project implementation times.
Professional Registrations:
Current registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP)
Computer Skills:
Computer literacy with regard to the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Licences:
A valid Cod EB (08) driver's licence.
