Job Description


Job Purpose:To lead and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for Ackermans (CFE and Commercial), driving brand engagement and alignment across categories. This role focuses on creating impactful, on-brand content, managing a small team, and analyzing performance. The Social Media Manager will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and optimized campaigns, enhancing Ackermans presence across all digital platforms.Key Responsibilities:1. Social Media Strategy Development and Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • Align social media efforts with Ackermans CFE, Commercial, CLVM, and Digital Marketing objectives, ensuring accurate reflection in promo grids.
2. Content Creation and Management
  • Ensure social media content aligns with Ackermans content plan, including collaboration with ATL, PR, and buying teams.
  • Develop platform-specific, engaging content with in-house teams and external agencies.
  • Manage social-only campaigns, ensuring timely content delivery across all platforms

4. Performance Analysis and Optimization
  • Analyze social media performance using Brandwatch and Salesforce to generate insightful reports and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Customer Insights team to generate advanced analytics for deeper audience understanding.
  • Identify actionable insights to optimize future campaigns.
5. Industry Trends and Best Practice
  • Keep the business updated on new social media trends, tools, and benchmarks.
  • Provide quarterly presentations with recommendations for innovative strategies.
Qualifications Required:Essential:
  • A Grade 12 Certificate / Matric
  • National Diploma / Degree in Marketing or an equivalent qualification
Preferred:
  • Digital marketing qualification
Skills Required:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative thinking with the ability to develop innovative content and campaign ideas
  • Strong knowledge of platform-specific algorithms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) to optimize performance
  • Analytical skills to interpret data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions
  • Visual content understanding
  • The ability to:
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and growth
Experience Required:Essential:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a social media strategy role
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience at a management level in Marketing, which specifically includes responsibility for managing a team
  • Experience in working across several different business units and functions
  • Strong knowledge of social channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools (Brandwatch, Salesforce)
  • Ability to create and curate content tailored for multiple social media platforms
  • Influencer marketing knowledge, identifying and working with influencers to drive campaigns
Preferred:
  • Experience within a clothing retail environment is preferred
Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their best practices (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging channels)
  • Knowledge of social media algorithms and trends to optimize content and engagement
  • Knowledge of analytics and reporting tools (Brandwatch, Salesforce, Google Analytics) to measure performance
  • Knowledge of content creation workflows and collaboration with design, photography, and videography teams
  • Knowledge of influencer marketing strategies and partnerships
  • Knowledge of brand management and tone of voice to ensure consistent communication across channels
  • Knowledge of competitor analysis techniques to benchmark performance and identify opportunities
