Our client in the health sector is seeking a Software Testing Engineer in Cape Town for a hybrid position. This opportunity entails a 1-year contract.As a Software Test Engineer, you'll contribute to the development of enterprise-level software aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the province, with a focus on managing person-level health data. This pivotal role involves collaborating with a diverse team to build reliable, interoperable, and open-source software solutions.Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate test design, documentation, and strategies based on business requirements.

• Ensure software components meet quality standards and business needs.

• Drive quality control and test plan execution in agile sprints.

• Identify areas of code quality improvement and work with the team to address them.

• Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, DB plugins, mock services, Playwright, etc.).

• Contribute risk management insights during sprint planning.

• Enhance software delivery processes based on agile principles and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification; advanced ISTQB Certification is a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software testing within software development teams.

• Proficiency in MS SQL Server and data access methods, SQL, and database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including familiarity with Stored Procedures.

• Experience in setting up and maintaining automated testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, mock services, and Playwright.

• Knowledge of testing web services, including XML, JSON, REST, and WCF.

• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and their application in small software team environments, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
