SUMMARY:
Our client, a wholesale and distribution company dealing in industrial & electrical products, requires an Area Manager to grow their share of the solar market. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the effective leadership, operational management, business development and overall profitability for the KZN region.POSITION INFO:
Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the sales team to ensure targets are met.
  • Supervise and guide a team of professionals.
  • Develop safe and positive work environment for staff.
  • Plan to ensure achievement of divisional and personal target, aligning with company sales policies and strategies.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering timely and quality services.
  • Develop strong working relationship with potential clients for new business opportunities within the assigned area.
  • Analyse budget and expenses to find opportunities for cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Develop plans for optimal use of resources and time.
  • Recruit new staff into team focusing on strong sales competencies.
  • Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard.
  • Develop marketing plans to achieve sales target and increase brand visibility within the assigned area.
  • Perform market research to study consumer behaviour, latest trends and competitor activity.
  • Organise regular meetings with management to discuss business updates and opportunities.
  • Train staff on daily responsibilities, brand promotion and customer service activities.
  • Evaluate existing business procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Manage daily operations of branch office to meet business goals.
  • Daily management of Key Accounts.
Minimum Qualification:
  • Grade 12, fluent in English language
  • Appropriate Sales or Sales Management qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of the electrical industry and related market segments
Essential Experience
  • Proven track record in a proactive sales role
  • Experience of the Solar sector
  • Experience of account management and penetration

  • Able to manage existing customer relationships, and proactively develop new customer relationships;
  • Confident and can influence at all levels;
  • Excellent presentation skills that inspire the audience;
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Commercially driven and financially astute
  • Collaborates across the business to come up with new ways of working;
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Computer skills, including use of Word, Excel and Outlook
