Job Description


***Please note: This is a hybrid positionA large corporate based in Houghton is urgently looking for a Solutions Analyst to be responsible for understanding business needs and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology design and business solutions and participate in the identification and development of functional system requirements.In order to be considered the following is required:

  • Degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce or similar
  • Cloud certifications AWS or AZURE or GCP (Advantageous)
  • Certification in relevant Enterprise Architecture or Technology frameworks and methodologies (Advantageous)
  • 6 years of experience in a Business or Systems Analyst role
  • 3 years of experience in a functional or business consulting role
  • 3 years of experience in integration systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Programming languages
  • Software development
  • Knowledge of ICT project management principles (e.g., Agile)
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Project financial analysis
Responsibilities:
Support technology strategy & innovation:
  • Assist in process change and best practice recommendations for customers post-implementation of the solution
  • Responsible for automation and continuous improvement in collaboration with team members
  • Conduct research on trends and directions in technology that guide solutions with future-state in mind
  • Work with the team on ideation sessions to create innovative competitive solutions and a roadmap to achieve
  • Leverage analysis and testing tools, frameworks and techniques to define and organise business requirements
  • Understand and leverage the knowledge of the organisation's technical landscape, environment, and broader architecture to define integration points across technology stacks for various requirements
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client's technology environment through regular client engagements and research
Execute analysis and design activities:
  • Work in collaboration with the team to clarify and understand requirements, challenges and design needs
  • Provide guidance and assistance in evaluating and proposing system solutions that meet user requirements.
  • Prepare analysis documentation, i.e. Business Requirement Documents or User Requirement Specifications for solution design
  • Develop and document business requirements into user stories and specifications with integration points, business and associated risks or opportunities included
  • Accountable for coordinating the design and planning of functional tests
Technical implementation within own area:
  • Provide strategic design and implementation of over technology ECO system
  • Deliver design solutions and conduct periodic implementation reviews
  • Provide input on product development and deployment methods
  • Keep up with the latest technology industry trends relating to application architecture
  • Deliver solutions that adhere to ICT standards, policies and practices
  • Participate and assist in the discovery or inception workshops to create a shared understanding of user needs and the potential technology solutions required to deliver to these needs
Quality and risk management:
  • Test all solution aspects, including but not limited to acceptance, security, performance and integration
  • Provide input in iteration meetings (planning meetings, daily standup)
  • Implement adequate levels of solution governance that are fit for purpose whilst supporting solution delivery
  • Proactively engage with departments on governance and processes to manage change requests
  • Participate in change board interactions and maintain compliance with all ICT policies and procedures
Business partnering and customer support:
  • Maintain effective communication and regular engagement with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with commercial, UX, technology, support, testing, and other SMEs to analyse user needs and requirements
  • Maintain timeliness in accordance with SLAs
  • Responsible for the review of vendor engagements
Effective teamwork and self-management:
  • Train, mentor and provide guidance to solutions analyst
  • Coaching and training fellow colleagues and users when necessary
  • Maintain good time management to handle several projects at once
  • Plan and prioritise competing demands, demonstrating the ability to manage them
  • Protect and maintain the confidentiality of critical business systems and data
  • Adhere to development standards and principles
Governance:
  • Subscribe and align to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the departments processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard
  • Support ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome
Lead as an ambassador and executor of change:
  • Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity
  • Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers
  • Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters / concerns to the SMEs (subject matter experts) when required
