In this role, you will lead the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements..Location: Sandton12 months contractHybrid: 2 days onsite & 3 days remotePossible start date: JanuaryResponsibilities:

• Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements.
• Manages trade-offs and balances functional, service quality, cost efficiency and systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation. Communicates proposed decisions to stakeholders.
• Coordinates and manages the target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives.
• Maintains a stable, viable architecture and ensures consistency of design and adherence to appropriate standards across multiple projects or initiatives.
• Essence of the level of responsibilities: The SA has significant organisational influence, makes high-level decisions, shapes policies, demonstrates leadership, promotes organisational collaboration, and accepts accountability in key areas.

Technical skills, experience, and certifications:

• Practical technical experience prior to their architecture career. 10-12 years in either infrastructure or development backgrounds.
• In addition to general IT experience, recommended at least 4-5 years specific experience in Solutions Architecture.
• Experience leading a large-scale solutions from inception to implementation.
• Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent qualifications or experience will also be considered.
• Bonus: Have a valid TOGAF certification - this illustrates at least a foundational knowledge of architectural concepts, artifacts, architecture domains, architecture knowledge management, and how a SA works together with the bigger EA team.
• Bonus: Have a valid certification in Azure AZ-305 or AWS Solutions Architect Professional.

Development background:

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of integration patterns and tools.
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
