: Sous Chef (Cafe, Eatery and Bakery)Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe creation, and food preparation in a cafe, eatery, and bakery setting
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring proper cooking techniques and food safety standards are upheld
Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment
Ensure high-quality dishes are consistently produced according to recipes and customer preferences
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their cooking skills and knowledge
Monitor food costs and work towards cost-effective meal preparation without compromising quality
Adhere to health and safety regulations, following proper sanitation guidelines and kitchen procedures
Assist in creating a positive work environment and embody the values of the establishment
Essential Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a cafe, eatery, or bakery
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Attention to detail and creativity in culinary arts
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree is a plus
Desired Experience:Previous experience working in a cafe, eatery, or bakery setting is preferred.
