Urgent position for a Sous chef to start IMMEDIATELY
R25000 - R28000 CTC p/m
StellenboschPLEASE NOTE: Chefs applying need to reside in the Helderberg/Winelands/Northern suburbs of Cape Town.

Culinary DiplomaPreferably +/- 4 years previous in a senior chef roleOwn transport with valid drivers licenseLeadership and management skillsAble to work in a teamBasic computer skills (word, excel, outlook)Exceptional customer-service skillsExcellent written & oral communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAttention to detailAvailability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends)xc2xb7Manage and lead the kitchen staff in chefs absence
Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation and dish plating
Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
Train and assess staff on the job
Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concernsxc2xb7
Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standardsxc2xb7
Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability and training opportunitiesxc2xb7
Assists head chef with menu creationxc2xb7
Monitor and maintain health and safetyxc2xb7
Maintain staff and leave rostersxc2xb7
Ensure that all CDPs are familiar with the weekly and daily reservations, events and menu requirementsxc2xb7
Ensure that each dish leaving the kitchen is checked for quality, quantity, presentation and correct temperatures
