The successful candidate must have extensive Southern Africa procurement experience and will be responsible for commercial contracts making sure TourAxis has the most competitive rates and conditions for each of its brands in the designated geographical area. Existing relationships with (hotel) suppliers need to be maintained and new partners will need to be sourced. Professional and swift support and advice need to be provided to peers.Key Duties & Responsibilities (in no specific order)Negotiate and contract a portfolio of hotels with exclusive rates, conditions, and inventoryBe the expert of your assigned region by having in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Southern Africa market and destinationBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers and various partnersExcellent knowledge of the popular tourist areas and facilities, such as the hotel groups, the attractions, etcDevelop and ensure good relations with peers and colleagues in the different internal processesRepresent TourAxis at Trade Shows and other events as and when requiredMust have experience building products that are commercially viable and successfulUnderstand client needs and wantsYou are able to research products, visit suppliers and negotiate favourable termsAbility to build relationships and KPIsKey RelationshipsHotel partnersLocal services and experience suppliersProduct development departmentFinance teamBrand ManagersOperations ManagementRequired Skills, Experience & Qualifications6+ years of experience in hotel / supplier contracting or a similar role.Proven track record of negotiating competitive agreementsStrong understanding of the hospitality industryAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with hotel managers and other industry professionalsExceptional negotiation skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels of an organisation including hotel management and ownersStrong commercial skills and business understandingAble to work to deadlines independently in a fast-paced and scaling-up environmentExcellent written and verbal communication including high proficiency of verbal and written EnglishA working understanding of Afrikaans is advantageousJob Types: Full-time, PermanentApplication Question(s):Do you have an extensive knowledge of suppliers for travel and tourism in South AfricaExperience:Travel/Hospitality: 6 years (Required)Location:Cape Town, Western Cape (Required)
