To apply, send your CV to or apply directly at the link below.My client, a leading mining company, is looking for a Specialist C&I Engineer to join their team in Rosebank, Gauteng for a long-term contract (4 years). The role will require regular travel to site in Kathu.The purpose of the role is to design and implement all electrical; control; instrumentation; and IT engineering works, ensuring integration across different business disciplines.Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Safety, Health and Environment:

• Comply with the health, safety, and environmental expectations:

• Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership
• Promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where employees can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
• Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.

Performance and Delivery

• Engineering Governance and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with legislation, SANS, company design, and maintenance and implementation standards.
• Manage and govern all electrical, control & instrumentation and information technology processes safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively to meet short-term and long-term production objectives.
• Manage electrical, control and instrumentation, and information technology-related contractors to ensure zero harm to workers and no damage to property.
• Ensure that customer relations are maintained and enhanced to contribute to overall project success.
• Ensure all contracts are in place to monitor contractor performance and compare to agreed-upon requirements.
• Proactively liaise with external energy suppliers to ensure sufficient energy allocation.
• Quality Control and Continuous Improvement

• Benchmark best practices and introduce new technology to the business.
• Implement best practices on quality control concerning technical engineering aspects during project execution.
• Implement and contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects to ensure the implementation of best-practice engineering processes.
• Liaise with stakeholders to provide relevant and specialised technical support and input for operations and projects.
• Resource Management and Project Support

• Allocate resources (external providers) to achieve the section plan daily and throughout the year.
• Develop and test new growth ideas for viability in preparation for, and to be taken through, the various project phases to ensure project success.
• Provide overall electrical support to project teams to achieve integrity standards of the applicable engineering disciplines.
• Ensure effective use of engineering systems and software and appreciate its benefits.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering / Mechatronics degree or equivalent NQF7
• Masters in Engineering would be advantageous
• Active registration with ECSA as PR.Eng
• Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle
• Willing and able to travel to Kathu regularly
• Knowledge of contract types and applicability.
• Understanding of project capital estimating methodologies and systems.
• Mining Operations from a technical and project perspective.
• Knowledge of heavy industry maintenance and operations experience.
