Specialist, Communication - LimpopoFull job descriptionJob Advert SummaryPURPOSE:To draft a new Communication strategy, which will foster effective information sharing between the business, internal and external stakeholders in the Lephalale Municipal area.To ensure effective communication is maintained as guided by the Communication strategy.To ensure the Company brand is visible at the Mine and in Lephalale.To be the local media liaison in conjunction with the Manager, Stakeholder Affairs.To assist with communication relating to the Inclusion and Engagement journey of the Business Unit.To assist with the roll out of the Culture themes.Minimum RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:B Degree (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)BA Communication Science (Essential/Minimum)EXPERIENCE:3-5 years Relevant experience at a mining/resources company in communication, incl. development of communication plan, budget management, communication project management, writing/editing, communication channel management, brand management. Environmental operations. (Essential/Minimum) OperationalREQUIREMENTS:Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)Duties & ResponsibilitiesBudget and ControlMonitor and track all spending according to the approved budgetReport on the monthly spending according to the approved budgetCommunication ActivitiesDevelop a communication strategy for the Business Unit (BU) in line with the group Communications strategyDetermine clear communication objectives for the BU as well as measurable targets to determine of objectives are metDevelop communication plans for each of the different options of communication to internal and external stakeholdersGive guidance on the best channels to use that will ensure that the message is clear and will enhance the Groups brand within the relevant areasMeasure the effectiveness of the campaigns and channels and make recommendations on improvementsResponsible to ensure that the BU delivers clear communication that informs, engages and influences internal and external stakeholdersMonitor the Groups Brand and ensure that it is maintained in Lephalale on all media platformsInform employees through effective communication on BU initiatives as well as sharing success stories to ensure that all see the value of these initiativesCreate a positive sentiment and buy-in from allCompile monthly reports on communication initiatives and report to the management teamSupport the Practitioner, Communications with the Planning and project management of BU internal communication and external communication (to local stakeholders) projects, initiatives and campaigns in support of the group strategy, BU objectives, BU stakeholder affairs priorities and corporate/BU communication strategic planPlan for and execute all communication activities related to communication project including develop content, manage design/production of collateral by service providers, engage and manage media service providers, branding and event managementSupport the Practitioner, Communications with the management of communication of corporate/BU announcements internallyLiaise with corporate communication team to communicate BU announcements externallyLaunch of Projects i.e. Marapong new housing, Career Expo, Ga-Seleka Roads etc.Communication ChannelsEdit and publish content for communication channels and ensure content is up to date and relevant for employee audienceDevelop and implement editorial content plans for channels in support of and aligned to Business Unit (BU) communication campaigns/initiativesValidate the content created for group internal/external communication channels, as requiredCompliance, Governance and AssuranceEnsure all communication activities are delivered in accordance within the Group, stakeholder affairs and corporate communications policies, guidelines, systems and proceduresAdhere to sound corporate governance principlesFunctional ManagementProvide inputs to group corporate communication strategic planDevelop and execute BU communication plan.Ensure plan is aligned to BU stakeholder affairs, group stakeholder affairs and corporate communications strategic plansEngage BU management and corporate communications in delivery of BU communicationSupport development of corporate communications and brand policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, processes etc. and entrench at BUActively participate in stakeholder affairs functional and cross- functional forums/Communities of Practice (COPs) as required to ensure alignment, coordination and integrationSafe and Healthy Work EnvironmentMaintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operations practicesEnsure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standardsEncourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operationsSpecialised SupportSupport BU management with local media engagementBuild relations with local media and serve as primary contact for local media incl. responding to queries/requests for information etc.Engage corporate communications to align media interactionsProactively identify/take advantage of opportunities to create brand awareness;
