Job Description

Main PurposeThis Post will be responsible for analysing datasets to facilitate the development of performance dashboards using data science, analytical tools, techniques, and best practices for DFAxe2x80x99s National Network Planning Department and Regional Planning. The incumbent will be required to summarise/report, visualise and clean data to provide inputs into processes to identify and create business performance insights. Collaborate with data owners and users. Manage and coordinate the cleanup process done by the data owners and their teams. Assist with update and build of new centralised data layers on the ARCGIS SDE (spatial database engine) to assist with National and Regional planning, automations and integrations with ARCGIS.Data Processing

• Document and understand the protocols for data processing, cleansing and verification of data used for analyses in National Network Planning
• Propose and share business improvements through insights developed by analysis.
• Document, implement, maintain, and recommend methods to improve data flow, processing, distribution, collection

Data analytics and visualisation * Identify, analyse and interpret trends in network data sets using statistical techniques, with a focus on increasing data quality and accuracy.

• Providing analyses that inform visualizations for decision makers.
• Support the development of algorithms for the analytical platform to answer key questions raised by stakeholders

Reporting

• Ad-hoc reporting of insights and findings as requested by NNP management in support of their meetings and presentations to maintain the integrity of the network elements data

Business Intelligence requirements gathering and documentation * Consolidate the data requirements for National and Regional Planning

• Develop logical and technical data solutions, including data integration and interoperability needs, for the data use cases.
• Documentation of Data quality metrics and specifications for data validation.
• Provide feedback on performance and usability of National and Regional Plannings data systems to the Data Management team.
• Work closely with Data Management to deliver data related project for the planning environment.
• Provide inputs into the analysis of the data landscape to develop a xe2x80x98single source of truthxe2x80x99 of data across Planningxe2x80x99s systems and to reduce manual provisioning efforts.
• Troubleshoot data-related problems and recommend maintenance or modifications to all the systems across all Planning teams.

Data Analyses and Support

• Execute spatial queries on spatial data provided by internal and external customers to determine:
• Provide query data which can be used in the development of new products.
• Provide query data which can be used within DFA business cases.
• Provide exports of current client networks for the client to view.
• Provide concise reports on the above
• Do analyses on spatial data and liaise with various departments on findings.
• Analyse data integrity and co-ordinate the solution in various GIS databases and manage the amendments of any errors across the planning environment
• Regular health checks and reporting on the GIS databases
• Compile GIS guideline documentation and keep current

Relationship building * Maintain good working relationships with teams such as Data Management, DBS, Business Excellence and other DFA entities.

• Able to build relationships across all levels of the business
• Stand in for Senior Data Analyst if and when required

• Matric plus higher technical certificate (min 1 year) or equivalent
• Analysis and systems analysis experience (minimum requirement).
• At least 1 yearsxe2x80x99 experience working with geospatial data. (minimum requirement).
• Experience in Telecommunications (preferred).
• 2 to 3 years QuickBase and ArcGis experience (preferred)
