Job Description

Directing professional engineering requirements and procedures to support function areas with a department through participation in the prioritization or alignment of the key performance area to support the strategic intent, the provision of expertise in the design approach in respect of a variety of complex form of engineering interventions.
Key Responsibility Areas

Integrating best practices into functional objectives setting, planning and decision-making processes

Executing delegated responsibilities in respect of leading professional project teams from inception to completion and contributes to the identification and development of the key professional engineering skills.

Managing the principal and application associated with the development and presentation of technical designs for complex forms of a variety of engineering work related to the department area of responsibility.
?
Managing procedures associated with the preparation and collection of contact documentation and/ or evaluating tender applications for a variety of complex engineering work related to the department.
?
Defining appropriate standards and controlling the implementation/ outcomes of the variety of complex forms of engineering contracts
?
Managing the department responsibilities associated with the development and execution of an asset management plan that support the broader unit strategy.
?
Disseminating information on the professional aspect of engineering design concept and providing reports detailing intervention and outcome related to a variety of complex forms of engineering works.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical) Degree (NQF Level 8) or equivalent acceptable to ECSA.

Registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
?

• Valid motor vehicle driving license.

• 7 Years post registration experience.
