To provide group-wide accurate, expert, specialist, relevant, quality regulatory compliance advice, compliance review and assessment services for all TU Africa regions. Responsible for the development and overseeing of a compliance program whilst striving to build and ensure a culture of compliance within the organisation which reflects to all outside parties.
What You'll Bring:
Assist Management in executing applicable regulatory requirements by identifying them and making them aware of their responsibilities relating to compliance.
Perform assessments of regulatory impact on the organisation, create gap analyses, rate risks of regulatory requirements for the implementation of monitoring and review programmes.
Draft compliance related policies and procedures.
Train and educate the business on their roles and responsibilities as it relates to all compliance activities.
Support the development and approval of compliance risk management plans for the organisation in accordance with generally accepted compliance principles and standards.
Conduct routine formal independent compliance risk management activities by developing an effective compliance risk assessment plan and present to management for approval. Monitor compliance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements by implementing the plan and prepare monitoring reports for the business.
Develop, implement and execute a formal risk-based subscriber monitoring program to establish compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle of the subscriber agreement. Plan and conduct compliance risk assessments, document and report on findings and drive implement recommendations.
Facilitate the implementation of the enterprise risk management programme and report on material risks to compliance management.
Where required, act as regional coordinator for the enterprise business continuity programme, monitor and report on compliance with the programme's quarterly deliverables and requirements.
Where required, prepare statutory compliance reports for management review and submission.
Where required, accompany business to client visits to address any compliance related queries and/or training.
Where required, attend industry and/or regulatory meetings or workshops to represent TransUnion's compliance function.
Impact You'll Make:
Diploma or Advanced qualification in compliance/legal/internal audit or related field
Operational compliance/legal/internal audit background and 3-4 years of experience
Understand generally accepted compliance principles and standards
Knowledgeable of legislation applicable to the business, e.g. National Credit Act, Protection of Personal Information Act
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer literacy
Ability to create and facilitate presentations and training
Analytical and problem-solving attitude
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
