Certified by the Top Employer Institute 2024.Role Purpose/Business Unit:The Specialist: Margin Accounting is responsible for: Mobile Customer Revenue and IFRS accounting and reporting with support to Financial Services with journals and recons over month-end.Your responsibilities will include:1. Financial month-end processes relating to Margin Accounting for Mobile Customer Revenue as well as Financial Services including:

  • Preparation and posting of journals
  • Preparation of SAP data to be loaded into the Hyperion Financial Reporting tool (HFM)
  • Preparation of required disclosure schedules for Unbilled Revenue.
  • Prepare prepaid deferral days analysis and send to the Financial Management & Planning Analysis Team
2. Keeping abreast of the latest standards and ensuring alignment to the governance, SOX controls and accounting standards are adhered to.3. Proficiency in the accounting standards and liaison with the Finops IFRS team and internal audit when necessary.4. Perform trend analysis on pre-bill run inceptions and exclusions for the current month5. Preparation of accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations in line with Vodafone requirements for accounts under your control and ensuring timeous clearance of reconciling and aged items.6. Fulfillment of finance operational tasks including:
  • Insurance Invoices for Mutual & Federal and Centriq are coded and submitted to Shared Service Centre for timeous processing
  • Running of IFRS15 reports to support clearing of error buckets as well as month-end close reporting
  • Ad-hoc resolution of queries and issues from internal and external customers including internal and external auditors
  • Review finance processes and identify gaps, documenting and implementing processes and changes where necessary
  • Support Vodacom Business Partners with new projects or improvements to be implemented
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • B.Com Degree (Accounting)
  • 3 to 5 years experience in Finance Operations
