Our client requires the services of a Software Engineer (Advanced) - Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

POSITION: Contract until December 2026

EXPERIENCE: 4-6 Years related working experience.

COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• South African citizens/residents are preferred.
• At least 1 years worth of experience in Splunk dashboard development
• Experience in developing and supporting IT software solutions

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• At least 1 year experience with Splunk dashboard development
• Strong SPL knowledge and experience
• Knowledge and experience with data ingest configuration.
• Knowledge and experience with search time configuration
• Knowledge of Splunk platform architecture and administration

ADVANTAGEOUS TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Experience with SplunkJS
• Experience with Splunk development using Python (scripted inputs, modular alert actions,..)
• Experience with web app development using ReactJS
• Working with code repository and CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Github, Jenkins, Github Actions,..)
• Working with agile methods especially SCRUM with tools like JIRA, Confluence
• Strong working knowledge with software development tools, techniques and approaches used to build applications
• Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills
• Coordination between development and support environments
• Engaging with business stakeholders (eliciting requirements, application support)
• Planning and monitoring
• Knowledge of big data concepts
• Knowledge of data analysis concepts
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts
• Understanding of integration between different technologies
• Understanding of BI Tools will be beneficial

ROLE:

• Primary
• Engaging with the team, business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality Splunk apps
• Developing Splunk classic dashboards
• Developing Splunk dashboards using Dashboard Studio
• Developing Splunk alerts
• Configuring Splunk knowledge objects
• Configuring data ingest
• Future growth
• Developing custom UI using the ReactJS Dashboard Framework
• Developing use cases using the Splunk MLTK
• Administration and architecture support an option
