Job Description

This role focuses on the dual responsibilities of managing and optimizing MS SQL Server databases and providing data-driven insights through reporting and analytics. The SQL Administrator and Reporting Specialist ensures database reliability, security, and performance while delivering actionable business intelligence.

Key Performance Areas:

Database Administration: Installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, recovery, performance optimization, and security of MS SQL Server databases. Data Reporting and Analytics: Design, development, and delivery of reports, dashboards, and visualizations using SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and other tools. ETL processes for data integration. Maintenance and Monitoring: Job scheduling, alerts, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and capacity planning. Documentation and Compliance: Creating and maintaining database documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and data protection standards. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifying and implementing enhancements to database performance, automation, and reporting.

Required Experience:

3+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server administration, configuration, and troubleshooting. Proven experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, or other business intelligence tools for creating reports and data visualizations. Experience with ETL processes and tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Expertise in MS SQL Server administration.

Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, and Power BI.

Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (SSIS).

Ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable insights.

Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Collage Degree in Software development.
