Store Manager - Lunar Mart - Stellenbosch

An opportunity at Stellenbosch has become available for a Store Manager at our Stellenbosch store. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising sales and ensuring the effective operation of all store activities through effective merchandise and inventory management, operating cost control, and people management.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Store Manager

to oversee the daily operations of our supermarket. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth store operations, optimizing sales, managing staff, and delivering an excellent customer experience. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall store operations, ensuring efficiency and profitability. Manage and supervise store employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure exceptional customer service and handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally. Maintain store inventory, oversee stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment. Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue growth. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Analyze financial reports, manage budgets, and control costs to maximize profitability. Plan and execute promotional events, marketing strategies, and seasonal campaigns. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards. Implement loss prevention strategies and ensure security measures are in place.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or in a similar retail management role. Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to analyze sales reports and make data-driven decisions. Experience with inventory management, budgeting, and cost control. Familiarity with supermarket operations, including perishable goods, grocery stocking, and point-of-sale systems. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed. High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field advantageous).

REQUIREMENTS

2 - 5 years FMCG experience, or in a similar retail environment, with prior management responsibilities Tertiary qualification in Retail Management/Sales Management Ability to communicate with customers and store team members. A commitment to customer service excellence, coupled with superior visual presentation abilities. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills with minimum immediate supervision A proven aptitude for administration and the professional exercising of discretion at all times and under all circumstances Proven effectiveness in time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities Computer literacy essential Ability to work varied hours/days as required in a retail environment.
