Job Summary

The Storeman will be responsible for the overall management of the hotel's storage facility, including receiving, storing, and issuing goods. The role ensures proper inventory control, maintains accurate records, and supports operational efficiency by ensuring that the required stock is available and properly managed.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries against purchase orders. Ensure proper storage, labelling, and arrangement of goods to maintain organization and accessibility. Monitor stock levels, reorder items as necessary, and prevent stock shortages or overstocking. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Goods Issuance

Process departmental requisitions and ensure timely and accurate issuance of items. Maintain clear documentation of all stock movements for audit purposes.

Record-Keeping and Reporting

Maintain up-to-date inventory records in the system. Generate stock reports and share with the Procurement Officer as required.

Compliance and Organization

Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards in the storage area. Safeguard the store by implementing security measures against theft or loss. Follow FIFO/LIFO principles for stock rotation, especially for perishables.

Key Competencies and Skills

Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to operate inventory management systems. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock records. Good communication skills for liaising with the procurement officer and other departments.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Procurement, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Management. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry. Proficiency in MS Office and inventory systems is an advantage.
