A well-established casket manufacturing company seeks to employ a

Strategic Business Improvement & Sales Development Manager



Conduct market research for potential business development, sales, growth and opportunities for expansion.

Learn and develop strong knowledge on products and services

Building strong, healthy, lasting relationships with customers and service providers.

Conduct ongoing periodic SWOT analysis to Identify business strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the market

Maintain, retain and grow the database of clients

Negotiate and close sales deals with customers and hand over to Sales Managers for further retention and service

Lead, guide and assist managers and employees in overcoming potential technical challenges and barriers.

Mentor , train and guide sales management in reaching and achieving business and strategic goals and objectives

Analyse competitor and market data metrics

Effectively manage sales budgets to ensure delivery of targets and goals

Develop and implement policies, processes and procedures for effective and efficient sales operations.

Compile and complete sales forecasts, sales activity reports and presentations in a timely manner.

Develop sales projects and activities to grow and improve business.

Conduct Customer surveys, price and product benchmarking, market and industry analysis.

Plan and implement strategic initiatives to attend to gaps identified during market and industry analysis.

Monitor and evaluate debtors accounts , age analysis , query management and turn around times.

Train and develop sales managers and employees to achieve and meet both strategic business and personal goals

Provide direction and strategy using analytics to generate new business and maintain existing accounts, driving sales & profit in a nominated large market/region.

Manage and control sales to facilitate a healthy debt book through ongoing revenue generation

Identify new business opportunities through consultation and cooperation with operational management, planned prospecting, leads, cold calling, tender notices.

Conduct and arrange customer site visits and surveys to identify potential risks

Prepare and submit sales proposals to prospective customers. and conduct sales presentation as and when required

Monitor and evaluate the Sage and CRM Systems to ensure the system is constantly updated with required information of new and existing customers.

Effective reporting on Sales and Marketing activities to the Management Board.

Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the Managing Director which should include product, customer and market analysis, needs and demands with recommendations and measures to be implemented to mitigate risk and gain competitiveness in the market.

Facilitate and manage restructure of the department , which includes change and transformation management

Business planning, reporting, data analytics, market research, sales quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales program implementation, design sales incentive programs, interviewing and recruiting sales management and personnel as and when required.

Designing, compiling, and implementing strategic plans, sales processes, market analysis and research, lead generation processes , customer needs analysis, product demand analysis, price and product benchmarking, industry analysis , budgeting processes and all other sales related activities,

Proactively monitoring and maintaining high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales environment.

Establishing sales objectives and goals , developing and implementing processes for successful achievement.

Working closely with sales management to inspect sales processes quality and prioritize opportunities methods for improvement.

Compile and facilitate improvement methods and measures within sales departments

Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies.

Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement by implementing training and development programs for sales employees and managers

Collaborating with senior executive team to understand the overall business strategy.

Forecast and budgeting of the annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans to ensure the achievement of monthly and yearly goals.

Review and analyze financial reports and statements to identify sales inefficiencies.

Develop plans and strategies to address in efficiencies identified during sales analysis

Analyse markets for product penetration and availability to plan and measure productivity and profitability.

Research and review market needs and propose new product introduction in the sales market to grow sales

Manage successful sales teams and ensure that the teams consistently meet or exceeds daily, monthly and yearly sales performance metrics.

Work with other function leads to create and maintain a world-class sales and operational culture, focused on delivering results by providing ongoing coaching and development of Sales Managers Sales teams.

Consistently ensuring that business is conducted with integrity at all times and behaviour aligns with company values.

Provides leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.

Develop customer-centric capability within the sales teams.

Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures.

Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands.

Plan and manage change and transformation effectively.

Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organizational needs.

Planning and Coordinating sales activities , events , trade shows, conferences with marketing activities to ensure that both departments are working together to achieve common goals.

Analysing data from various sources--including metrics from CRM software, Sage Evolution ,website statistics, call logs, emails, etc.--to identify trends or opportunities for improvement.

Monitor individual and team performance against KPIs, taking corrective action when necessary.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products ,prices and strategies.

Manage the sales budget, ensuring expenditures remain within allocated limits

Stay up to date with new product launches and ensure sales Teams are kept informed.

Liaise with marketing and product development departments to ensure brand consistency.

Manage and control Sales operations.

Carry out any lawful legal instruction given to you by a senior.

Educational Requirements



Grade 12

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Sales Management

Good command of the English language

Extensive experience in sales and customer service

Strategic implementation and development

Goal and target setting

Performance management

A minimum of three years of responsible leadership experience in management
