Duties and responsibilities:



Provide academic leadership by executing strategies and tasks to establish the Department as a leader in the field of English. Strengthen and maintain ties with the Bloemfontein branch of the English Department. Contribute to the overall leadership of the faculty. Participate in applicable Faculty and UFS management structures. Contribute to the initiation, formulation, and implementation of a visionary academic strategy for the Department of English on the Qwaqwa Campus in consultation with the Academic Head of Department. Create and maintain a visionary research strategy for the Department of English on the Qwaqwa Campus in consultation with the Academic Head of Department. Build an effective team of scholars. Encourage and actively support academic staff members to apply for external research funding and other grants.

Inherent Job Requirements:



A PhD degree at NQF level 10 in the field of English. Any full-time, permanent member of the academic staff of the Department of English at the University of the Free State, Qwaqwa Campus.

Allowance:
