It is our mission to further the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.Submissions Prepress Quality Controller(6-month Fixed Term Contract)Oxford University Press is recruiting for a Submissions Prepress Quality Controller who will be responsible for ensuring that print ready files meet the necessary industry standards to allow for seamless and quality printing of Oxford University Press (OUP) products.The Submissions Prepress Quality Controller will be reporting to the Inventory & Manufacturing Manager. This post is based in Goodwood, Cape Town.Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure final print ready files are quality checked before sent to print: Prepress checks to be completed in Pitstop.
  • Reporting on faults resolved: Reporting on faults investigated, clear communication with publishing services team.
  • Quality submissions printed copies: Check quality of printed copies, goods receipt of submission copies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant qualification
  • 2- 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in printing or prepress in an offset environment essential
  • 2-3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in book printing techniques and process
  • Book printing or publishing experience (advantageous)
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • System experience in Adobe Pro, InDesign and Pitstop essential
  • Experience in typesetting (advantageous)
