About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for a Superintendent: Mine planning (short term - Infrastructure) To develop short-term plans for all mining infrastructure and initiate capital projects associated with the life of mine plan.Reporting to the Manager: Technical Services and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Mining and Planning, you will:
  • Identify and source all technical aspects pertaining to service design alignment and transpose these aspects into options prior to approval.
  • Compile and develop the shorter term Capital Plan (weekly, 3 months, etc.) to ensure sustainable production via appropriate mine infrastructure.
  • Review adherence to formal plans, identify non-compliance and assist in resolving resulting issues.
  • Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of designated support staff
  • Ensure that staff training and development needs are identified and addressed to facilitate optimal functioning.
  • Liaise with various internal stakeholders regarding geological / mining conditions to ensure that the required information is shared, advice provided on optimal mine design and infrastructure and that plans are adjusted accordingly.
  • Provide the required input for budgeting and forecasting purposes and submit to management for approval and finalization.
What you'll bring
  • Minimum BSc Degree or higher (Mining Engineering/Geological Science)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the mining environment
  • Project management /Finance and business management advantageous
  • Valid South African Driver's license
  • Minimum 2 years' leadership Experience
