Job Description

Undertakes responsibility for the maintenance of Council's vehicle and heavy plant.
Key Responsibility AreasControl and supervise subordinate staff to achieve section goals.
Quote on jobs as necessary including insurance repairs.
Audit quality checks on vehicles (Work in progress) to ensure RTQS.
Monitor internal and outwork work flow.
Attend to relevant staff matters such as timekeeping, discipline and monitor staff roster.
Identify relevant internal and external training modules/courses.
Monitor workshop budget and expenses, compile reports and explain variances.
Verify and pass for payment all orders/invoices.
Identify problem areas and solve where necessary.
Make recommendations to technical management as considered necessary.
Monitor workshop vehicles and equipment.
Undertake special projects as required.

Essential RequirementsTrade Tested Artisan (Petrol or Diesel or Construction Plant).
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
5 Years relevant post qualification experience.
Computer Literacy.
Preferred RequirementsDiploma (NQF Level 6) in Road Transport Management or any other related and equivalent
