Job Purpose
The Development Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Innovation and Development team, overseeing software development projects, and driving innovation initiatives. This role involves providing strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or in a related field. At least five (5) years' experience in software development or innovation. Strong background in software development, including PHP, Java, or relevant technologies. Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle) and web services/API development. Knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Familiarity with Open-Source CMS frameworks (Joomla, WordPress, Drupal). Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS). Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to align the team with organizational objectives. Drive innovation initiatives and keep up with industry trends. Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and train development team members. Conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work culture. Project Oversight: Plan, manage, and oversee software development projects. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions within budget. Innovation Initiatives: Research and implement emerging technologies to drive innovation. Promote creativity and continuous improvement in development processes. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with academic staff, administrative personnel, and senior management. Maintain partnerships with vendors and technology experts. Resource Management: Efficiently allocate and manage departmental resources, including budgets and personnel. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure software development activities adhere to organizational policies and industry standards. Implement best practices for quality control and documentation.
