Supply Chain Development Manager - WoodmeadFull job descriptionParticipate with senior management in developing and establishing goals and objectives to support robust supply chain processes and continuous process improvementTranslate the business strategy into a supply chain network strategy to optimally facilitate delivery to the businessLead four areas of Customer services, S&OP, Logistics (Export Management and Transport) and WarehousingDevelop and implement supply chain strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall business goalsDevelop contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with the supply chainLead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of supply chain improvement projectsDevelop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operationsProvide guidance and maintain the policy on the IBP process for Explosives and Mining ChemicalsGuide the supply chain function on the risks associated with the supply chain, such as disruptions to the supply chain or changes in demandEnsure process controls are documented in alignment with the global standards working closely with Internal AuditEnsure that PSC managers are utilising the sales forecast to prepare the operational strategic plan to address volume and resource requirements and constraints that will assist the procurement and sourcing functionAssist with balancing security of supply with working capitalImplement new technologies to improve operations within the warehouse and logistics functionDevelop strategic plans and policies to improve warehousing operationsProvide guidance on the negotiation of contracts with suppliers to ensure that the organisation receives the best possible value for its expenditureGuide management teams on reviewing and managing supplier performance by monitoring their performance and service to AECI, identifying, and addressing any issues, and working with the suppliers to improve their performanceCultivate strong relationships with procurement suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and efficient inventory managementBudget and Performance ManagementAdhere to and stay abreast of relevant logistics, freight and vessel legislation, regulations, and policies such as the operational safety guidelines provided by International Air Traffic Association (IATA), the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996, the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code and vessel compliance as well as other relevant Dangerous Goods Conveyance and Handling regulations.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in supply chain /engineering or related qualificationMaster's degree advantageousMinimum 15+ years experience in the continuous improvement environment which included manufacturing, global supply chains, logistics, deep sea logistics, planning and warehousingUnderstanding of Chemical and Mining Industries
