Suply Chain General Manager - 9 Months Contract



Job Purpose:



To strategically lead, manage, and continuously improve the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function of the client in line with relevant public sector legislation, financial prescripts, and organizational goals. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing procurement, contract management, supplier performance, compliance, and auditing processes, ensuring value for money and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the overall Supply Chain Management function across the client's operations. Develop and implement SCM policies, procedures, and strategic plans in accordance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and other applicable legislation. Oversee all SCM processes including demand management, acquisition management, contract management, logistics, and performance monitoring. Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance, and risk management frameworks within the SCM environment. Drive continuous improvement and transformation in supply chain processes and supplier development initiatives. Manage contract life cycles and ensure legal and procedural compliance in all contractual engagements. Monitor audit outcomes and ensure implementation of corrective action plans to address SCM audit findings. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including professional bodies, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory entities. Ensure team capacity building, performance management, and leadership development within the SCM department.

Minimum Requirements:



Educational Qualification:



Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Professional Accreditation:



South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)

Experience:



Minimum of 8 years' experience in Supply Chain Management At least 3 years in a senior management role within Supply Chain. Minimum 3 years' experience in Audit. Minimum 1 year experience in Contract Management.

Other Requirements:



Certificate in Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) is an added advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of public sector legislative frameworks and how they are applied within the SCM environment. Valid Drivers License
