Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating the functions of procurement of materials, components, and services according to the overall company objectives.
- Responsible for driving inventory sourcing, negotiating contracts with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure materials ordered, supplied at optimal cost, meet ISO 9001 requirements and technical specifications.
- Coordinate the Master Production Schedule in terms of chassis movement.
- Addresses issues and bottlenecks with internal departments by constantly monitoring orders, understanding, and mitigating risks on delivery timelines and documenting solutions and take corrective action as required.
- Coordinate the parts logistics, relating to customer sales (picking, packing & shipping) as well as overseeing the companys supply chain movements in terms of trucks, materials & components.
- Tertiary Qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Supply Chain & Logistics
- 5 years experience in Supply Chain
- Excellent firm negotiating skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Sound IT Skills (Excel, SAP etc.)
- Knowledge of Engineering/Truck Body building process will be advantageous.
- Drivers license
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills with suppliers and colleagues to drive results.
- Ability to work cross functionally (Planning, Production)
- Effective decision making
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Problem solving, innovation and initiative skills.
- Takes initiative and can work under pressure.
