Job Summary The Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering the incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner as well as liaising and communicating at all levels and to adapt and respect all cultures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES xe2x80xa2 To answer incoming, internal and designate outgoing calls in a professional and pleasant manner xe2x80xa2 Liaise and communicate with doctors, executive personnel, public and colleagues xe2x80xa2 Be able to designate complaints to relevant channels xe2x80xa2 Confidentiality is of utmost importance xe2x80xa2 Keep abreast with all relevant information and contingency plans xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules and emergencies xe2x80xa2 To assist with overtime when necessary xe2x80xa2 Operating a busy Switchboard xe2x80xa2 Facilitate telephone calls in and out of the department xe2x80xa2 Log calls for hospital staff and patients where required xe2x80xa2 Log calls for faulty switchboard lines. SKILLS PROFILE EDUCATION xe2x80xa2 Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification WORK EXPERIENCE xe2x80xa2 1-2 years working experience in the same position Essential. xe2x80xa2 Working experience in private healthcare or healthcare funding industry will be advantageous, xe2x80xa2 Working experience on SAP will be advantageous. xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of Telephone Management Systems advantageous. KNOWLEDGE xe2x80xa2 Computer literacy ( Microsoft office) essential, xe2x80xa2 Good interpersonal and communication skills, xe2x80xa2 Must be able to function effectively independently, xe2x80xa2 Fluent communication in English essential. xe2x80xa2 Multi-Lingual
