Job Description


System administrators (or sysadmin or systems administrator) are responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Installing and configuring software, hardware and supporting networks
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Assist with server support operations to ensure prompt resolution of all server-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems, with minimal downtime Work in conjunction with server team(s) to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in resolving server issues
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Documenting of Systems and configurations, manuals
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience 3-5+ Years as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Experience with Powershell CLI Scripting and Automation
  • Experience with HyperV / Vmware
  • Experience with DNS Management and Domain registration
  • Familiarity with website hosting / CDN
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Preferred Qualifications:
- MSCE
- A+ / N+ / Security+
- ITIL Foundations * - Linux /CompTIA Linux+ /Red Hat
  • Azure, Office 365, Exchange, DNS Management and VMWare Experience and IBM Power Administration ( AIX / Red hat ) will be beneficial
