My client, a leading FMCG company based in Montague Gardens, requires a competent and experienced Systems Accountant / Financial Systems Analyst to join their team.This position is reporting to the Head of Finance.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fieldAdvanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CA, CIMA) preferred.Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in accounting, financial systems management, or related roles.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. Knowledge and experience working with Syspro ERP, or other SQL based ERPs (advantageous).Knowledge and experience working with Qlikview / (advantageous).Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language) for data manipulation and reporting.Familiarity with Microsoft Query for extracting and analyzing data from databases and other sources.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Experience and knowledge from working in an FMCG environmentSA Citizens onMust reside in the Greater Cape Town area.Skills and Attitude required:Very strong aptitude for technology (experience in automating processes would be advantageous)Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify insights.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needsDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.Proactive approach to problem-solving.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work and handle a pressurized working environment.Key Functions (The key tasks which the need to be performed)Financial Systems Management:Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and optimization of financial systems, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, accounting software, and related tools.Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data by monitoring system integrity, performing regular audits, and implementing controls.Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in a timely manner.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance automation, and improve data accuracy through system enhancements.Calculate and quantify improvement measures to assess the impact of process enhancements on efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness after doing a full impact analysis.Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial systems and processes.Support implementation of Commercial improvement initiatives. Financial Reporting and Analysis:Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights into business performance, trends, and variances.Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budget forecasts, and management reports.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards in financial reporting.Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making regarding cost allocation, capital investments, and resource allocation.Supply reports to facilitate transparent communication of risks.Budgeting Process:Collaborate with finance teams in the budgeting process, providing expertise in financial systems and data analysis.Assist in the development of budget forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed.Utilize the ERP system effectively to streamline the budget process. Financial Audit Assistance:Assist in financial audit preparations, providing necessary documentation, reports, and analysis to auditors.Collaborate with audit teams to address queries, provide explanations, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.Implement recommendations from audit findings to improve financial processes and internal controls.User Training and Support:Provide training and support to finance and non-finance users on financial systems, processes, and best practices.Act as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for system-related inquiries and troubleshooting.System Upgrades and Integration:Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in collaboration with IT and software vendors.Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new financial systems or modules.Integrate financial systems with other business applications to streamline data flow and improve crossfunctional visibility
