Job Description

Our client in the Retail industry is currently looking for a Tax and Reporting Accountant, in Woodmead, Johannesburg.Responsibilities:

• Preparing consolidated and company financial statements in compliance with IFRS requirements.
• Assisting with reviewing subsidiary financial statements.
• Assist with collating information for the preparation of income tax and provisional tax computations including reviewing foreign subsidiary tax calculations and ensuring timeous submission of related returns.
• Collating information for subsidiary VAT and statutory return submissions.
• Accurately preparing and processing all monthly journals and standard journals as and when required.
• Preparation of loan amortization schedules, IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IFRS 16 as well as any other IFRS-related calculations as and when required.
• Preparation of monthly analysis reports for management as and when required.
• Assist with the budgeting process.
• Assist with month-end reporting.
• Assist with coordinating year-end audits and compiling information required for audits.
• Assist with statutory compliance related matters.
• Perform any other tasks that may from time to time be assigned.
• Adhere to the health, hygiene and safety regulations and maintain a safe and tidy work environment.

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Accounting/Tax/Finance (NQF6 /7)/equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar position and/or environment.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office with proficiency in Excel.
• SAICA/SAIPA articles will be advantageous.
• Strong IFRS and tax knowledge.
• Group reporting and consolidation of multicurrency entitiesxe2x80x99 experience.
• Experience drafting annual financial statements (Company and Consolidated Financial Statements) using CaseWare.
• Syspro experience will be advantageous.
• Experience in dealing with corporate, indirect and payroll tax matters including preparation/review of tax calculations and return submissions will be advantageous.
• Experience within a FMCG/Retail/Stock Environment (Imports/Exports) will be advantageous.

• R35 000 xe2x80x93 R50 000 per month dependent on qualification and experience.
