Job Description

The International Tax and Cash Associate will play a key role in supporting the company's global tax strategy and cash management activities. This is a crucial position that combines tax planning, compliance, and cash flow management to ensure Desertcart's operations are optimized for growth while complying with international regulations. Key Responsibilities:International Tax:



Tax Compliance:

Support the preparation and submission of tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other local tax obligations in different jurisdictions where Desertcart operates.

Transfer Pricing:

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and policies to comply with local and international regulations.

Tax Reporting:

Help prepare quarterly and annual tax reporting packages in line with IFRS and local tax laws.

International Tax Strategy:

Work with senior team members to develop strategies for tax planning, optimization, and risk management across Desertcart's global footprint.

Cross-border Transactions:

Assist in managing cross-border transactions, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations.

Cash Management:



Cash Flow Forecasting:

Support the management of cash flow forecasts for the business, ensuring that adequate liquidity is maintained for operations and growth.

Banking Relationships:

Assist with maintaining relationships with banks and financial institutions, supporting the execution of international wire transfers, and managing foreign exchange transactions.

Cash Reporting:

Help prepare reports on cash position, liquidity, and funding requirements for senior management.

Treasury Functions:

Assist in optimizing cash management processes, ensuring efficient allocation of cash resources across Desertcart's global operations.

Requirements:



Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as

CTA

(Chartered Tax Adviser) or

CA(SA)

(Chartered Accountant, South Africa) will be a plus.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in international tax, corporate finance, or treasury management. Familiarity with global tax regulations and compliance requirements, especially in the e-commerce or retail sector. Experience in managing cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships on an international scale.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of international tax compliance, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and corporate tax. Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and cash management. Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, international environment. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel) and a good understanding of ERP systems. Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desirable:

Knowledge of the Middle East tax landscape and banking systems is advantageous. Experience with e-commerce or multinational corporations would be highly beneficial.
