Proper understanding and knowledge of Individual, Company, and Trust Tax Acts.
Withholding Tax calculations and submission.
Knowledge and understanding of Tax directives and completion and submission to SARS.
Public Officer Appointments.
VAT, PAYE, and SDL Registrations at SARS.
Import and Export Registrations at SARS.
Completion and submission of all Import and Export returns with the SARS.
Knowledge and understanding on how to proceed with SARS objections, administration penalties wavering and suspension of accounts.
Understanding and calculating clients Value Added Tax (VAT) and submitting of VAT201 returns on SARS e-filing.
Understanding and operation of Sage VIP Payroll, capturing monthly salaries of client's staff on Sage VIP Payroll and extraction of payslips/payroll files
Capturing and submission of EMP201's on SARS e-filing.
Reconciling of Salaries and submission of IRP5's and EMP501's on SARS e-filing.
Liaising with SARS and able to maintain SARS appointments
Discussing with clients their financial information and taxable income during meetings.
Determining any possible deductions to which a client may be eligible.
Researching tax laws.
Collaborating with customers to develop strategies to reduce tax liabilities.
Communicating with clients to clarify tax-related concerns.
Preparing tax filings.
Ensuring that clients comply with their tax responsibilities.
Prepares tax returns for individuals, organizations, and businesses using significant knowledge of tax rules and regulations.
Using adequate strategies to minimize taxation by taking advantage of tax deductions and credits.
Helping with complicated tax issues, like those involving rental properties and capital gains.
Minimizing tax obligations.
Providing guidance on important life events and their tax implications, like inheritance, marriage, divorce, and childbirth.
Gathering relevant financials and tax information from clients through interview Information such as clients' taxable income, allowances, and deductible expenses.
Qualifications/Requirements
Matric
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
BCompt Accounting or Taxation degree or minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting firm
Auditing and/or accounting SAIPA/SAICA/SAIBA or SAIT articles is an advantage
Understanding of SARS e-filing
Understanding of Income Tax
Understanding of Value Added Tax
Understanding of Pay As You Earn
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers
Well organized
Must have own reliable vehicle with valid drivers licence.
