Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Autos, Press & Plating Team Leader is responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and implementing process improvements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage workflow, equipment maintenance, and staff performance while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.
The successful candidate will be based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.POSITION INFO:Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets.
- Track and report production performance and resolve workflow bottlenecks.
- Ensure proper staffing, shift coverage, and address equipment issues.
- Maintain quality assurance by enforcing standards and resolving issues.
- Oversee machine maintenance, stock control, and adherence to ERP systems.
- Train, manage, and discipline staff while enforcing policies and monitoring attendance.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles, cost control, and process improvements.
- Ensure workplace safety compliance and foster a culture of accountability.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the mechanical industry.
- Experience in production supervision and process improvement.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, stock control, and safety regulations.
- NSC Matric Certificate.
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner (essential).
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
