Job Description

PURPOSE





To provide technical support to the General Manager and to overall operations.




RESPONSIBILITIES




Technical Support




Provide technical advice to the General Manager (GM) when required. Assist in the development, review, and implementation of technical strategies. Provide support with technical issues, identify problems across departments and resolution thereof. Monitor key operational metrics and provide analytical reports to the GM. Coordinate and facilitate technical meetings, ensuring follow-ups on action items.

Management Support




Ensure strategic alignment with organisational goals. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and performance dashboards for the GM. Employee engagement. Arrange meetings and refreshments as and when required. Assist with identified tasks

Stakeholder Relationship




Liaise with relevant stakeholders and departments and relay relevant information. Facilitate processes with different stakeholders. Engage with external vendors, consultants, and clients as and when needed.

Performed Administration




Assist in ensuring site budgets are adhered to. Prepare, process, organise and archive various types of documentation electronically. Assist with escalating matters related to Operations committee team. Assist with ad hoc administrative duties.

Communication




Fast track distribution of information. Act as a liaison between the GM and supporting teams, ensuring clear communication of priorities. Represent the GM in meetings, prepare briefing notes, and follow-up on decisions. Effectively communicate feedback to the GM's direct reports and other stakeholders through various channels.

Reporting




Ensure information is received timeously from relevant stakeholders for consolidation and prepare the report. Ensure accurate data collection and submission. Provide timeous reports to relevant stakeholders as and when required. Archive the final approved report digitally, i.e. on SharePoint and Teams and ensure easy access to information.

QUALIFICATIONS




BSc Engineering Honours: Civil / Mining Engineering ECSA/SAICE registration would be advantageous Business Management qualification would be advantageous

EXPERIENCE




Minimum two - three years' experience in an engineering or tailings management role Minimum two years' experience in the operational environment would be advantageous PowerBI experience would be advantageous
