Job Description


Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, or related field.
Language Requirements: English
Familiarity with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, SAP.Experience

  • Proven experience as a Technical Buyer or in a similar role within the engineering or automotive industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of materials, equipment, and services used in manufacturing projects.
  • Experience in managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Procurement of Technical materials and services.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for technical products (e.g., building materials, machinery, construction equipment, electrical components).
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and project completion.
  • Place orders in line with Production plans and schedules and manage the approval process in line with procedures and delivery urgency.
  • Optimize procurement processes and methodologies to reduce spend.
  • Continuously improve procurement concerning RFP/3 Bid and negotiating process.
  • Cost saving initiative aligned to overalled budget.
  • Vendor Management
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and assessments based on technical capabilities, reliability, and performance.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular monitoring and feedback to ensure timely deliveries and quality standards are met.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve any quality or supply issues.
  • Proactively manage internal and external customer expectations and relationships with all operating groups
  • Technical Specifications and Documentation
  • Review technical specifications and engineering drawings to determine material and equipment requirements.
  • Work closely with project engineers, architects, and technical teams to align procurement strategies with project needs.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the required quality standards.
  • Implement quality checks, inspect goods upon delivery, and coordinate any necessary returns or replacements.
  • Ensure products meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project deadlines.
  • Provide support in addressing any technical queries or issues during the procurement process.
  • Contribute to risk management by ensuring supply chain continuity and resolving delays.
  • Systems and process improvements
  • Partake as leader or team member in Supply Chain projects and tasks as and when required.
  • Ensure processes and systems are in line with group standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate internally to the Group to build a wider understanding of potential supply from external sources.
