This LAB will be available to the services and GTM teams and used as an enabler to showcase our solutions in a live environment.What you'll be doingThe IT Lab (Data Centre) Technical Lead, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and Maintaining ICT Labs (Data Centre): You oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of the organizations ICT labs (Data Centre). This involves ensuring that all equipment, software, and network systems are functioning efficiently.
  • User Support and Resource Accessibility: You ensure that users have seamless access to necessary resources within the ICT labs. This includes troubleshooting issues, resolving technical problems, and providing support to lab users.
  • Technical Leadership: As a lead, you guide the technical team, provide mentorship, and set high standards for software quality. You collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and architects.
  • Documentation and Reporting: You document lab operations, prepare reports, and maintain manuals.
  • Budget Management: Strong budget management skills are crucial. Youll need to allocate resources effectively and optimize costs.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining ICT Labs (Data Centre):
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and security of computer labs.
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware or software issues in the ICT labs.
  • Address problems related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • User Support:
  • Assist students and faculty using the ICT labs.
  • Set up user accounts, help with software installation, and provide application training.
  • Software Management:
  • Manage software licensing agreements.
  • Maintain an inventory of all software installed in the ICT labs.
  • Security Management:
  • Set up firewalls, install anti-virus software, and monitor network security.
  • Budget Management:
  • Handle the budget for the ICT labs.
  • Track vendor expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare expenditure reports and identify cost-saving measures.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams regarding vendor capabilities and solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and innovations related to vendor offerings.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the technical solutions or services provided by vendors.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and collaborate on improvement plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at vendor organizations.
  • Monitor contract compliance and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Ensure contracts include clear terms regarding deliverables, timelines, pricing, and performance metrics.
  • Manage contract negotiations, amendments, and renewals.
  • Collaborate with Delivery, GTM and technical teams to identify potential vendors.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, licenses, warranties, and user manuals.
  • Collaborate with software developers and engineers to design testing plans.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies for enhancing the IT laboratory environment.
  • Optimize Azure, AWS, and Continuity services.
  • Transition services to operational teams from the LAB (Data Centre).

Experience required, Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Storage and Virtualisation:
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies and principles
  • Experience with storage area network technologies
  • Have a good understanding of Containers and Kubernetes
  • Solid experience with Operating Systems such as Linux and Microsoft
  • Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS: Understanding the differences between Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) is crucial.
  • Azure Certifications:
  • AZ900 (Fundamentals)
  • AZ104 (Administration)
  • AZ304 and AZ305 (Architecture solutions)
  • AZ500 (Security)
  • AWS Certification
  • Operating Systems: Familiarity with Windows, MacOS, and Linux is essential, especially when managing diverse environments.
  • Azure Application Management: Configuring, monitoring, and handling scaling scenarios for applications in Azure are critical skills. Tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights help achieve this.
  • Security and Authentication: Understanding advanced security features, authentication mechanisms, and single sign-on across cloud and on-premises environments is crucial.
  • Backup Systems: With 5+ years of experience, youre well-versed in system backup and recovery methods. Knowledge of major backup solutions (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam) is valuable.
  • Continuity Infrastructure: Understanding continuity services and architecture patterns ensures robust solutions.
  • Consulting and Collaboration: As a mentor, youll collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors. Communication skills are key.
  • Market Trends and Solution Insights: Staying informed about market trends and exploring new vendors and methods is essential.
  • Hybrid Scenarios and DevOps: Experience with hybrid cloud scenarios (combining on-premises and Azure) and working in Agile/DevOps environments is valuable.
  • Technical Presentations and Solution Proposals: The ability to present technical solutions to a business audience and write solution proposals is crucial.
