Job Description


Job SummaryKey Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee all operational management activities within the portfolio.
  • Manage and coordinate building construction and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Develop and control budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness across all operational activities.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors to facilitate smooth operations.
Experience & Education:
  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12, with a tertiary qualification in Building Science, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations or Facilities Management within a large-scale retail, commercial, or industrial property environment.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical background and skills are essential, including experience in maintenance and contract management.
Skills Required:
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in cost budgeting and control.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Effective project management skills, including scope definition, resource allocation, and timeline management.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
Knowledge Required:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lease conditions, housekeeping principles, and OHS/SHE Acts.
  • Familiarity with company policies, statutory requirements, and technical regulations.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of HVAC systems, concrete stands, water cooling systems, and maintenance practices.
Competencies:
  • Customer and quality focus with strong leadership abilities.
  • Resilience, initiative, and a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under stress.
Interface/Relationships:
  • Internal: Property/Centre Manager, Lease Administrator, Debtors Administrator, Handyman.
  • External: Contractors, Landlords, Tenants.
