Work Location: JohannesburgJOB CONTEXTOur Digital Assets Team is seeking a hands-on Technical Product Owner to drive the implementation of digital assets and financial solutions, requiring expertise in Agile project management, Oracle, Blockchain integration, and Product Ownership experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Requirement Management:

• Gather and prioritize requirements from operations, treasury,

, management, and compliance teams, translating them into actionable product goals. 2. User Engagement:

• Understand user workflows, identify challenges and dependencies, provide training for optimal system use, and identify inefficiencies in product processes

3. Architecture Definition/Refinement:

• Play a key role in refining the architectural target state as new requirements emerge, and communicate any inconsistencies to stakeholders.

4. Agile Project Management:

• Maintain a prioritized backlog in line with sprint-based methodologies and drive the team to meet delivery targets

5. Collaborate with developers, blockchain architects, and technical analysts to define product features and detailed user stories.6. Ensure all user stories include clear acceptance criteria, with an emphasis on technical detail such as APIs, smart contract interactions, and backend systems.7. Break down epics into user stories that include technical details and prioritise them based on business value and technical complexity8. Be deeply involved in the technical aspects of the development lifecycle, from story development to ensuring blockchain integration (e.g., Solidity for smart contracts or Chainlink oracles for external data
feeds).

9. Work closely with QA and DevOps to ensure testing and deployment strategies meet technical standards.10. Be involved in code reviews, technical architecture discussions, and detailed problem-solving to help the team deliver high-quality products.

11. A keen interest in emerging technology is a plus.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:1. Academic Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree or equivalent in finance, business, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

2. Years of Experience

• 5+ years of Product Ownership experience in fintech,

, payments, startups, or digital asset environments.
3. Area of Expertise

• Deep knowledge and understanding in FinTech, payments, or middle-office banking systems is essential.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, software development, and agile
• International payments, digital assets and/or blockchain understanding is a plus
