Must have a Degree in Horticulture/ Plant Pathology/ Chemistry/ Entomology or a related field
An AVCASA Certification in Crop Protection is essential
Minimum 3 years technical experience in a similar industry, with 3 years experience in people management will be required
Extensive experience dealing with the Act 36 Registrar, with working knowledge of registrations for highly regulated products, GHS regulations and other legislation that governs highly regulated products are non-negotiable for this role
Must have meticulous attention to detail with excellent record keeping skills
Proven knowledge of horticulture and best practices is important
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing and maintaining regulatory standard operating procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Training staff in regulatory policies and procedures to promote understanding and adherence.
Establishing regulatory priorities, budgets, and resource allocations to optimize efficiency.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, including proposed and final rules.
Managing activities such as audits, regulatory agency inspections, and product recalls to ensure compliance.
Participating in the development or implementation of clinical trial protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
Directing the preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, reports, or correspondence.
Formulating or implementing regulatory affairs policies and procedures to enhance regulatory compliance.
Providing regulatory guidance to departments or development project teams regarding product design, development, evaluation, or marketing.
Communicating regulatory information to multiple departments and ensuring correct interpretation.
Developing regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the submission of new products.
Implementing or monitoring complaint processing systems to ensure timely resolution of investigations.
Investigating product complaints and preparing documentation for submission to regulatory agencies.
Monitoring emerging trends in industry regulations to anticipate potential impacts on business processes.
Overseeing documentation efforts to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations and standards.
Representing the business before domestic or international regulatory authorities on major policy matters.
Reviewing all regulatory agency submission materials for timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
Reviewing marketing literature or user manuals to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Contributing to the development or implementation of business unit strategic and operating plans.
Establishing procedures or systems for publishing document submissions in hardcopy or electronic formats.
Serving as the primary contact for providing reliable scientific information to the company and its customers.
Developing relationships with regulatory authorities to analyze potential impacts of proposed environmental policy regulations.
Monitoring regulatory affairs activities to ensure alignment with corporate sustainability or green initiatives.
Monitoring regulatory affairs trends related to environmental issues.
