Job Description

Identifying and selecting reliable suppliers for automotive parts, including manufacturers and distributors. Negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Purchasing automotive parts in accordance with company requirements, considering quality, price, and delivery schedules. Monitoring and managing inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock. Ensuring that there is always an adequate supply of parts for manufacturing or service operations. Keeping track of part expiration dates, warranties, and product lifecycle for parts that are time-sensitive. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery schedules and quality standards. Resolving issues with suppliers, such as delays or defects, and ensuring that corrective actions are taken. Working with management to establish budgets for part purchases. Identifying cost-saving opportunities, such as bulk purchasing or alternative sources for parts. Analyzing market trends to forecast pricing and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. Ensuring that the parts purchased meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations. Conducting inspections or working with quality control teams to verify parts before use. Addressing any quality issues that arise and managing returns or exchanges with suppliers. Maintaining detailed records of all parts orders, deliveries, and transactions. Updating and tracking part numbers, pricing, supplier contacts, and delivery times. Creating reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and any issues encountered. Coordinating with engineering, production, and service teams to ensure that the right parts are available when needed. Communicating with logistics teams to plan shipments and ensure on-time delivery. Assisting in the planning and scheduling of parts required for vehicle production or repair projects. Staying informed about new trends, technologies, and developments in the automotive parts industry. Conducting research to find alternative suppliers or parts that might offer better performance or cost savings. Monitoring competitors' purchasing strategies and adjusting accordingly. Ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards for the parts being purchased. Adhering to company policies regarding ethical sourcing and sustainability.
