Your journey in engineering excellence begins right here, at SMEC South Africa. We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our dynamic team in Cape Town, Roads and Highways function. The individual will be responsible for assisting Technologists/Engineers/Project Managers/Other Professionals/Consultants.Key Responsibilities:Ensure projects are documented within set guidelinesProduce efficient, high-quality work and documentationEnsure tasks are completed according to project timelinesAble to use office systems relevant to tasksCan make good decisions on own initiativeQuery details suggesting more acceptable solutionsTake ownership and responsibility for own workApplying technical knowledge on projects involved withAwareness of time and cost implications on projectsAssess the risk of specific aspects of projectsCommunicate and liaise effectively with colleagues, contractors, sub-contractors and clientsMonitor the status of field work and generate periodic progress reportsInvolvement on projects' life cycle - from beginning to endAssist with resourcing of work within the sectionMaintain project administration and communication in terms of the company`s quality management systemAttend and contribute to taking minutes at technical and project meetings with colleagues and client`s Project ManagerAbility to resolve conflicts on site, or between external consultants, making sure to not aggravate any arising issues and solve conflicts in an ethical mannerMonitoring works and enforcing quality standards/specificationsRecommended Qualifications, Skills, and ExperienceDiploma in relevant field3 - 4 years drafting experienceDemonstrative experience in the use of CAD systemsExperience in transportation infrastructure advantageousAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressureHow to ApplyAll applications must be submitted online.
