In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.Guided by our purpose and our values, we enable both high performance and purposeful action as we aim to re-imagine mining to improve peoples lives", delivering the metals and minerals that make modern life possible. -As Technology Implementation Engineer you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:Identify and assess technologies suitable for the specific needs of the mining sitesConduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and evaluating potential impacts on siteImplementation of the approved technology projects on the operationsThis role will be required to be on the operations in the NC to be able to oversee the implementationDevelop detailed implementation plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgetingCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that technology deployment aligns with overall project objectivesOversee the installation and integration of new technology with existing mining equipment and systemsWork closely with equipment suppliers and manufacturersConduct rigorous testing and validation of new technologies to ensure they meet performance and safety standardsConduct pilot projects and collect data for analysisDevelop training programs and materials for operators and personnel to ensure they are proficient in using and maintaining the new technologyProvide ongoing support and address any technical issues that ariseImplement systems for collecting, storing, and analysing data generated by the new technologyMonitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisionsEnsure that all implemented technologies meet safety and regulatory requirementsConduct risk assessments and implement safety protocolsMonitor the performance of the implemented technology and adjust or optimise it as needed to maximise its effectivenessWork closely with technology vendors and suppliers to stay updated on the latest advancements and ensure that the mining operation benefits from the most up-to-date solutionsMaintain comprehensive records of technology implementation, including specifications, installation details, and performance metricsAddress any technical challenges or issues that arise during the implementation processStay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the mining industryEnsure that the implementation of new technology aligns with environmental sustainability goals and complies with relevant environmental regulationThis role is in the SIB & Construction Management (CON) at a Band 6 level reporting to Manager SIB Projects.Qualifications-Grade 12B-degree in Engineering or BTech in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering/ Information Technology/ Computer ScienceSA Drivers LicenceRequirements:5 - 10 years experience and knowledge of technology systemsThis role will require the successful incumbent to be based in Kathu, Northen Cape to be able to oversee the implementationExperience in plant and HME operationsUnderstand Heavy Mobile Equipment developments in EngineeringMaintenance and Condition Monitoring techniquesUnderstands Maintenance Practices (Planning, Execution and Reliability)Understands the selection and application of equipment to fit operational requirements and provides technical support to solve complex problems Additional Information-What we offerWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
