Job Description


The Telecommunication Data Scientist will work closely with various teams, such as network engineering, marketing and operations, to analyse large datasets and develop models that optimise network performance, customer satisfaction and overall business growth.The key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Extract, clean, and analyse large datasets from network operations, customer usage, and business systems to identify trends and actionable insights.
  • Predictive Modelling: Develop predictive models to forecast network traffic, customer churn, or service demand using statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
  • Network Performance Optimization: Use data-driven insights to improve the performance of telecommunication networks, including bandwidth management, fault detection, and resource allocation.
  • Customer Behaviour Analysis: Analyse customer data to understand usage patterns, improve customer experience, and recommend tailored service offerings.
  • Anomaly Detection: Implement and refine models to detect anomalies in network traffic, security breaches, or service performance issues.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Develop and deliver clear, concise reports and data visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders, using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or custom dashboards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, and product teams to align data science solutions with business objectives.
  • Automation: Build and automate data pipelines and workflows that facilitate continuous monitoring and reporting of key metrics.
  • Data Management: Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance by maintaining databases and following best practices in data governance
As you will be responsible for hitting the ground running extensive experience is essential. You will also be hands-on involved with the department.The requirements:Qualification:
  • Completed Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field
Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in data science or analytics role within telecommunications, networking, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with telecom-specific datasets, including call data records (CDRs), network performance logs, and customer usage data.
Skills Required:
  • Programming: Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or Scala for data manipulation and modelling.
  • Machine Learning: Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, including classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
  • Data Engineering: Strong ability to work with large datasets using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent big data frameworks.
  • Visualization: Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is a plus.
  • Telecommunication Protocols: Familiarity with telecommunication network protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G, VoIP) and standards is highly preferred.
